Garangao… The Essence of Heritage

Students of the Qatar Nanny Training Academy celebrated Garangao Night at the student residence in a festive atmosphere reflecting the richness of Qatari heritage and traditions. The event recreated the spirit of this beloved Ramadan occasion, one of the most cherished cultural customs in Qatar and the Gulf region.

The celebration aimed to introduce students to the traditions of Garangao, a mid-Ramadan event held to honor children who have completed half of the month’s fasting. Through this cultural activity, students had the opportunity to learn more about local customs and the social values associated with this heritage celebration.

The evening featured traditional Garangao chants, along with the distribution of nuts and sweets in keeping with the customs of the occasion. The joyful gathering created a vibrant atmosphere that reflected the spirit of community and celebration that characterizes Garangao festivities.
