Qatar Nanny Training Academy Organizes “Our Sustainability… Our Life” Week as Part of Qatar Sustainability Week

Qatar Nanny Training Academy (QNTA) activated “Our Sustainability… Our Life” Week as part of the annual Qatar Sustainability Week, an initiative implemented by Earthna, which serves as a national platform bringing together individuals and organizations in Qatar to raise awareness and promote sustainable practices. The 2025 edition of the week took place from November 1 to 8, featuring over 400 activities across various locations in the country.

The interactive events and workshops aimed to enhance environmental awareness among nannies and trainees while linking the concept of sustainability to educational and heritage values in Qatari society. The academy organized environmental awareness competitions to encourage eco-friendly thinking, waste sorting workshops to teach responsible handling of waste, and water sustainability workshops to highlight the importance of water resources and ways to preserve them.

Educational Workshops Linking Sustainability with Qatari Heritage

One of the highlights of the week was the “Al-Madoud Workshop,” which focused on training nannies to preserve heritage and transmit ancestral legacy to children in innovative ways as part of sustainability. In this workshop, traditional dolls were created using simple tools to revive this old popular game, providing nannies with practical methods to teach children about cultural heritage in an interactive and creative manner.

The Reggio Emilia approach was also applied, encouraging learning from the surrounding environment and using natural resources to create practical educational experiences while fostering creativity and responsibility in children. The approach included recycling workshops and the use of natural materials such as dried leaves, fallen branches and wood, and seashells in artistic and practical activities for children, reinforcing sustainability through the creative reuse of natural resources.

The week concluded with a reaffirmation of QNTA’s commitment to continue integrating sustainability into all its training programs, emphasizing its role in preparing nannies capable of instilling values of environmental stewardship and heritage preservation in future generations.
